How do I record my voice or an instrument?

Place the playhead at the start and press the red record button beside playback. Choose the microphone or instrument input and, for accompaniment, Play the arrangement while recording. Start recording, then press Stop when finished. The recording is added to the project. Use headphones when recording with music.

How do I balance the sounds?

Select each track and adjust Volume in Inspector. Pan places sound left or right. Reverb adds space and Echo adds repeats. Make small changes and listen to the tracks together.

How do I add images or video?

In Shape, use Media → Import and choose files. Double-click an item to add it at the playhead, or drag it onto a visual track. Move the clip and drag its edges to set when it appears.

How do I show an entire image without cropping?

Select the clip. Under Framing in Inspector, choose Fit — Keep proportions. To cover the frame, choose Fill — Crop to frame; the image edges may be cropped.

How do I add a title or text over the picture?

Click Text in Media, or add a text track using + Track. Enter text in Inspector and choose font, size and color. Move and resize the clip to set how long the title is shown.

How do I show shapes over a photo or video?

Add shapes and place their track above the image/video track. Set a transparent Background in the shape clip's Inspector. Higher visual tracks appear in front of lower ones.

How do I edit a video's audio separately?

Select the video clip and use Detach audio in Inspector. Its sound becomes a separate track where you can adjust volume and position. When using Solo on the video, also solo the audio track to hear them together.
