Melobytes Studio is a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) for algorithmic music and song creation and editing. You can also create videos by combining your music with images, video clips and lyrics. Start with lyrics, an image or your choices of musical style and settings, then shape the result yourself.

Music composition does not use generative artificial intelligence (AI). Algorithms apply musical rules to combine melodies, rhythms and harmonies using your material and settings. Lyrics can become songs with synthetic voices, an image can inspire a melody, and instrumental music can be created without lyrics.

Automatic creation is the beginning. Edit notes, instruments, tempo and arrangement; adjust synthetic voices and pronunciation; and try different versions. You can also add your own lyrics and synthetic singers to an existing MIDI melody, then combine the music with images and video.

The program helps lyricists hear their words as songs, musicians develop ideas, and anyone explore music without starting from an empty score. Beginners can use automatic composition, while experienced users can refine the details.

Create a first version, listen, and change it until it expresses your idea.

Before you start

Choose English in the language selector at the top of the program. This guide uses the names shown in the English interface. Choose the song's language separately beside the lyrics.

Four useful terms

• Project: your complete creation, including settings and edits.
• Track: a separate lane for an instrument, voice, audio, images or video.
• Clip: a section within a track that you can move or edit.
• Timeline: the area showing when each clip starts and how long it lasts.

MIDI lets you work with the notes and instruments of a musical composition. You will use it when importing and editing music.

License and demo mode

Create, play and edit projects in demo mode. An activated license is required to save or export your work. Demo playback includes a spoken "Melobytes Studio Demo" notice every 45 seconds, and the video preview displays a DEMO watermark.
