Creative shape presets
User manualChoose Shapes > More shapes, or the star button in the toolbox. These presets remain editable: their proportions are stored as parameters rather than being fixed to a single outline.
| Family | Available presets |
|---|---|
| Geometry | Triangle, Right triangle, Square, Parallelogram, Rhombus, Trapezoid, Pentagon, Hexagon, Octagon |
| Symbols | Star, Arrow, Chevron, Cross, Heart, Ring, Speech bubble |

- Choose a preset and click two opposite corners of its enclosing rectangle.
- Keep the shape selected and edit its Geometry parameters on the right. The available fields depend on the preset: for example, a star exposes its inner radius ratio and point count.
- Drag the orange control points for direct parameter editing. Use ordinary selection handles to transform the complete object.
- Set fill, outline and opacity in Properties. Save as
.meldrawto retain the editable parameters.
When to convert to curves
Use a preset's parameters while you need an easily adjustable shape. If you need to move individual nodes freely, choose Shapes > Convert to curves and use Nodes. Conversion changes the editing model from preset parameters to curve geometry; Undo restores the earlier form while that operation remains in the page's history.
Note: Cylinder and Cube are illustrations on the drawing plane. They do not create a three-dimensional model. Vector formats can preserve their outlines, while the native project keeps the most complete editing information.
